The Secrets of Giving

Giving is an opportunity and it is important to understand that what you give has the capacity to open an everlasting door of favor for you; and what you also miss to give has the capacity to shut against you an everlasting door of favor. In other words, it is not only what we do, but also what we fail to do that have eternal consequences.

In Nehemiah 13: 1-2 (AMP) it reads,”On that day they read aloud from the book of Moses so that the people could hear (its words), and in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite could ever enter the assembly of God, because they did not meet the Israelites with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them. Yet our God turned the curse into a blessing”

In the Bible passage above, God perpetually shut the door of His house against the Ammonite and Moabite because they failed to meet His people with bread and water. Even though, the people of Israel did not request for bread and water from the Ammonite or Moabite, yet God still expected the Ammonite or Moabite to have taken advantage of the opportunity they saw by offering something to His people.

Unfortunately, some believers are still stuck at this level of giving. We only give because we have been asked to give. However, God expects us to go beyond this level and seek opportunities to give even when we have not been requested to give.

My brother and sister, it is time to ascend to new heights in your giving, because your inability to do so may mean a missed opportunity to have brought blessings to yourself.

I pray that the Lord grants you grace to ascend to this new height of giving in the name of Jesus Christ.

Have a lovely week

Your brother
