Divine Instruction

Focal Scripture: “And He said unto them, ‘As soon as you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you’. Follow him to the house he enters, and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’. He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there. And they left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover” (Luke 22:10-13)

As we continue to explore Luke 22:10-13, we find out that when it was time for Jesus to eat the Passover with His disciples, he gave His disciples instructions on what to do. Jesus told His disciples that when they enter the city, they will meet a man carrying a jar of water. The man will then lead them to the house where they will make preparations for the Passover.

Notice that the instruction Jesus gave to His disciples was for them to ‘FOLLOW’ the man carrying a jar of water until he had led them to the house where they will eat the Passover. They were not to ask, query, interrogate, question etc but to just follow.

Brothers and sisters, suppose the disciples had begun to INTERROGATE rather than FOLLOW the man when they found him in the city, that would have been contrary to the ‘PATTERN’ that they had been instructed; and they would have confused the man or aroused his suspicion. Had the disciples done something else other than to follow this man, they would not have achieved their mission.

No wonder in Exodus 25:40, before God commissioned Moses to build the Tabernacle in the wilderness; He showed him a pattern of the Heavenly Tabernacle. Moses was instructed to ensure that the earthly model was ‘according to pattern’ that had been shown to him.

Brothers and sisters for every divine mission, God always gives a pattern. It is important to not only hear clearly but also to keep divine instructions; otherwise one could still find the man with the jar but still ruin the mission.

I pray that you receive grace to keep to divine instructions in the name of Jesus Christ.
