Focal Scripture: “And when they could not come nigh unto him for the Press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay” (Mark 2:4)
When four men arrived at the house where Jesus was staying carrying a paralyzed man on a stretcher; they could not get to Jesus because of the crowd. These men came with the intention of seeing Jesus, so that He can heal the paralyzed man on the stretcher. These men needed divine intervention but there was no access for them to get through to Jesus. When these men could not get through to Jesus, notice that they began taking off the roof of the house where Jesus was. These men saw the roof as a hindrance that needed to be removed for them to gain access to Jesus.
Brothers and sisters, is it not strange that most times we seek God’s touch in our lives without first of all removing everything that hinders us from reaching to him. We are often in dare desire for a change, we often desire divine interventions in our lives, we often want new levels but we fail to remove those things that are hindrances.
Brothers and sisters, as you desire God’s intervention in your life, remove every ‘roof’ that is a hindrance. Do away from every sinful lifestyle. Discard every habit or behaviour that will put-off God from reaching out to you.
